Beautiful vintage handmade wood plate with intricate micro-mosaic inlay.

• Technique: Khatam / Damascus marquetry - hundreds of tiny pieces of wood, bone, and mother-of-pearl hand-inlaid in geometric star and hexagon pattern

• Center: Interlocking 6-point stars and hexagons with iridescent mother-of-pearl shimmer - catches pink/blue in sunlight

• Border: Double star band with mother-of-pearl squares

• Material: Solid wood (olive / fruitwood) with mother-of-pearl and bone inlay

• Size: Approx 10" diameter x 0.75" deep - wall plate / serving tray size - see ruler photo

• Origin: Syria / Egypt / Middle Eastern - 1970s-80s vintage import

• Style: Bohemian, Moorish, Global, Mid Century Boho

Condition: Good vintage with rustic character. Wood has natural dark knots / mineral spots in the plain wood area - that's how these are - plus light scratches and patina. One tiny missing MOP piece in center 6-point star and a small chip near outer edge - please see close-up photos. Displays beautifully. Back is plain wood with knots - see photo.

Perfect as boho wall art, coffee table tray, catch-all, jewelry tray, or layered with rattan and plants. That mother-of-pearl really glows in sunlight!
