Lovely vintage artisan necklace featuring an oval copper pendant with a Northwest Coast formline style hummingbird.

The pendant is solid copper with an openwork oval frame. Inside the oval, a stylized hummingbird with outstretched wings is shown sipping from a trumpet flower. The design is etched in black with traditional formline ovoids and U-shapes on the wing, head, and body. The outer frame has a small bird head and flower motif engraved at the top right with flowing vine lines.

Cord Details:

• Thick black braided cord - soft and strong

• Adjustable with sliding macrame knots at back - fits 18" to about 30"

• Decorative wrapped sections near pendant in metallic copper and sage green thread with knotted rings

• Braided ends finished with large knot tassels and small white beads at cord tips - see photos

• Very comfortable - no metal clasp to irritate

This is Northwest Native American inspired / First Nations inspired style, often called Haida, Tsimshian, or Pacific Northwest Coast art. Hummingbird is a symbol of joy and healing in Northwest cultures.
