Vintage Andrea by Sadek Peacock Ginger Jar Vase - 8" Japan Satsuma Style
Beautiful Andrea by Sadek Japan peacock vase from the 1970s-80s.
• Large heavy porcelain - 8" tall about 7.5" wide
• Stunning hand-painted peacock with long gold tail feathers (photo 2 close-up) perched among pink cherry blossoms
• Large mauve/purple and rust peonies with green leaves on opposite side.
• All over raised gold gilt Moriage trim outlining flowers, bird, and leaves - catches light
• Crackle glaze throughout - that fine alligator crazing is intentional Satsuma style.
• Top rim is burgundy red with gold filigree flowers and two gold bands - shows some gold wear / rubbing at very top edge.
• Bottom base also has burgundy band with gold spiral pattern.
• Inside is plain white with crackle
• Bottom has original oval gold foil sticker: Andrea by Sadek MADE IN JAPAN.
Condition: Good vintage. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The crazing is NOT damage - it's how Andrea by Sadek made these. Light wear to gold on rim is normal for age. Clean.
This pattern is highly collectible for Hollywood Regency, chinoiserie, maximalist decor. Perfect as a standalone vase for peacock feathers, pampas grass, or just as shelf decor.
