Rare Mid-Century Stavangerflint Norway porcelain serving dish in dramatic high-gloss black with 24k gold gilt trim. This elongated oval form with double cigarette notches was sold as a large ashtray / celery / relish / vanity tray - perfect for a dresser, coffee table, or bar cart. From the famous Norwegian factory Stavangerflint (1949-1979) - the black & gold "Congo / Harlequin" line. Classic 1960s Scandinavian meets Hollywood Regency glam. Measures 10 3/4" L x 5 1/2" W. In good vintage condition - no chips or cracks. Expect light surface scratches to the glossy black glaze and wear to gold on rim and rests from age/use, as shown. Fine crazing visible under glaze. Mark on bottom: Stavangerflint Norway crown mark in gold. Perfect for collector of Norwegian pottery, Figgjo / Stavangerflint, or black and gold mid-century decor.
