I have been an avid thrifter and collector for decades. I can spend hours scouring flea markets, thrift shops, Goodwill and estate sales and do just that on most weekends. My home is an eclectic mix of my many finds and probably decorated with 80% previously loved furniture, art and decorations. MCM holds a special place in my heart - there's just something about the clean lines of the furniture and the whimsy of the decorative pieces that brings me so much happiness. This is my first foray into online selling, but I'm very excited to share the treasures I find and to be included in this community.
Elegant antique covered butter dish made by Moritz Zdekauer (MZ) for Habsburg China, Austria, dating to approximately the late 1800s or early 1900s.
The two-piece porcelain set includes a scalloped serving plate and domed cover with an ornate branch-style handle. Delicate pink floral garlands decorate both pieces, while embossed details and remnants of fine gold trim add Victorian charm. The plate is marked “Made in Habsburg China Austria” and bears pattern number 98.
Good antique condition with no obvious chips or cracks visible in the photographs. The floral decoration is softly faded in areas, and much of the original gold trim has worn away with age. Minor surface marks and manufacturing variations may also be present. Please review the photographs carefully.
