I have been an avid thrifter and collector for decades. I can spend hours scouring flea markets, thrift shops, Goodwill and estate sales and do just that on most weekends. My home is an eclectic mix of my many finds and probably decorated with 80% previously loved furniture, art and decorations. MCM holds a special place in my heart - there's just something about the clean lines of the furniture and the whimsy of the decorative pieces that brings me so much happiness. Beautiful vintage Franciscan Ware covered butter dish in the iconic Desert Rose pattern. This two-piece dish features hand-decorated pink roses, green leaves and sculpted brown branches against a warm ivory background. A dimensional rosebud finial tops the fitted lid, while the handled underplate has a graceful scalloped border.
Measurements: Base 7” x 4” Cover 5.75” x 2.5” x 2” (3” including finial)
The underside carries the desirable “Franciscan – Made in California U.S.A. – Hand Decorated – Gladding, McBean & Co. – Oven-Safe” backstamp, identifying it as an earlier American-made piece.
