Plumb Crazy Vintage is run by me, Joan Plumb. I've always loved the thrill of the hunt — the estate sale early mornings, the tucked-away antique malls, the joy of spotting something special that deserves a second life. I collect vintage, antique, and delightfully unique pieces that have character and make me smile. Every piece in the shop is chosen by hand and ready for a new home. I pack with care and ship the first business day after purchase. Your purchase helps fund my local food bank.
Vintage Hand Blown Cobalt Swirl Spanish Porrón Wine Decanter - Art Glass
Beautiful sculptural porrón - the traditional Spanish wine pitcher meant for pouring wine directly into the mouth or for aerating.
This one is hand blown art glass:
• Pale smoky blue-gray glass with a thick cobalt blue cane that spirals from base through the flared neck
• Deep cobalt applied pour spout
• Swirled / twisted optic ribs throughout body and neck
• Lots of small seed bubbles and hand-made character
• Large broken pontil on bottom - photo 4 shows it
• No mark, unmarked art glass
Perfect as a wine decanter, water carafe, or just a stunning shelf piece - catches light beautifully.
Condition: No chips, no cracks. The tip of the cobalt spout and the top rim have the slightly rough edge from when it was cut from the pipe - that's original to hand blown, not damage. Please see all 5 close-ups.
Size: About 10" tall (ruler photo), body about 6" wide. Long spout sticks out about 4.5" from body.
