Plumb Crazy Vintage is run by me, Joan Plumb. I've always loved the thrill of the hunt — the estate sale early mornings, the tucked-away antique malls, the joy of spotting something special that deserves a second life. I collect vintage, antique, and delightfully unique pieces that have character and make me smile. Every piece in the shop is chosen by hand and ready for a new home. I pack with care and ship the first business day after purchase. Your purchase helps fund my local food bank.
A sweet pair of vintage Oregon souvenir perfume bottles - turned myrtlewood holders with their original glass vials inside. Made by Beaudette's of Coquille, Oregon, these were a classic Oregon Coast tourist keepsake from the 1950s-70s. Each outer shell is lathe-turned Oregon myrtlewood (also called California Laurel), polished to a high gloss to show that beautiful tiger-stripe grain. The pointed top is actually the stopper - pull it and it's a 2-Dram glass vial with dauber. This is a matched but not identical pair: • Bottle 1: Warm medium brown wood, lighter finial, label fully intact reading "MYRTLE WOOD PERFUME by Beaudette's Coquille, Oregon 2 Drams" - vial still has amber perfume inside • Bottle 2: Slightly deeper grain, darker burgundy-brown finial - vial has a small amount of perfume remaining, label partially faded So pretty on a vanity or in a perfume bottle collection! DETAILS: • Maker: Beaudette's / Pacific Myrtlewood Products, Coquille / Coos Bay, Oregon • Material: Solid Oregon Myrtlewood holder + glass vial with wood stopper - this is treenware • Size: Approx. 3" - 3.5" tall x ∼2" wide at base (please measure yours to confirm - 2 Drams = ∼7.4ml) • Era: 1960s-70s, Mid-Century souvenir • Condition: Very good vintage. Wood is glossy with no chips or cracks, light surface wear consistent with age. Glass vials intact. Original perfume is vintage / partially evaporated - selling as collectible / display, not for cosmetic use. Myrtlewood only grows along the southern Oregon coast and northern California, so these little turned pieces were a signature souvenir - every dresser had one. Similar to the House of Myrtlewood and Myrtlewood Chalet shops that dotted Hwy 101.
