Vintage 1920s-30s Japanese Lusterware Tidbit Plate with Bluebird Handle

Charming Art Deco bon bon plate with the desirable figural bird on the handle! Perfect for your vanity, candy dish, or jewelry tray.

Details:

• Made in Japan - marked with green flower and "Hand Painted Made in Japan" - dates to 1921-1941

• Orange lusterware rim with iridescent glaze - creamy center with colorful hand-painted flowers (pink, blue, orange, purple)

• Center loop handle topped with a little bluebird - blue head, yellow breast, green tail

• Gold wash on handle and base - shows wear

• Tidbit / bon bon / nappy dish style - was sold as part of tea sets and bridge sets from the 1920s-40s

• Measures 8" diameter x 4 3/8" tall to top of bird

Condition: Good vintage condition. No cracks in plate. Bird has a small chip to clear tail tip (see close-up photo) and some paint wear. Plate has light wear and a tiny dark dot near center from firing - common. Gold on handle is worn/tarnished. Glossy luster still beautiful!
