Plumb Crazy Vintage is run by me, Joan Plumb. I've always loved the thrill of the hunt — the estate sale early mornings, the tucked-away antique malls, the joy of spotting something special that deserves a second life. I collect vintage, antique, and delightfully unique pieces that have character and make me smile. Every piece in the shop is chosen by hand and ready for a new home. I pack with care and ship the first business day after purchase. Your purchase helps fund my local food bank.
Vintage 1940s Heisey Sterling Silver Overlay Footed Sugar & Creamer Set - Tarnished Patina
You are looking at a 1940s elegant glass sugar and creamer set with sterling silver overlay. Many sellers list this as gold, but this set is silver - it has developed a dark brown-black tarnish from age, which is classic for sterling silver deposit on glass.
Both pieces are clear, heavy, footed glass with scalloped wavy rim and all-over pressed shell pattern. Front decoration is a central urn / flower basket with trailing ferns and roses - the silver overlay.
I have NOT polished this set - leaving final polishing to buyer. Under the tarnish the silver is intact with only light wear. See close-ups - the dark areas are tarnish, not missing overlay.
• Open sugar with 2 handles, no lid
• Matching creamer with pour spout
• ∼3" tall sugar, 3.5" tall creamer - heavy bottomed with a cut glass design
• No chips, cracks, or repairs - Some wear to the silver overlay and tarnishing
