Vintage Tilso Japan Grease Jar Salt Pepper Set 53/630 Fruit Ceramic Wire Caddy Mid Century Kitchen Decor

Charming vintage Tilso Japan ceramic kitchen set, featuring a covered grease jar with coordinating salt and pepper shakers displayed in their original-style wire caddy.

The ceramics have a wonderful raised basket-weave texture with colorful dimensional fruit, including strawberries, pears and grapes. The warm golden-brown glaze and hand-painted details give this set a fantastic mid-century cottage, farmhouse and retro kitchen look.

The center grease jar includes its matching lid, which is decorated with dimensional pears and embossed “GREASE” lettering. The coordinating salt and pepper shakers fit into the wire holder on either side.

The grease jar is marked 53/630 on the bottom, and the shakers are marked JAPAN.

Condition: This is a vintage pre-owned set showing age-related wear. There is overall glaze crazing consistent with age. The pepper shaker has a visible hairline crack running from the upper portion down the side near/through the strawberry decoration. Please see the close-up photograph for the location and extent of the crack.

The wire caddy has a small amount of surface rust/oxidation and age-related patina. I have left the vintage finish intact rather than attempting to restore or refinish it.
