Charming vintage porcelain trinket box featuring a beautiful flower-shaped lid decorated with dimensional applied porcelain roses and leaves.

The petite box is finished in a soft ivory/white glaze with ribbed flower petals and delicate gold accents. The center of the lid is embellished with three applied flowers in pink, blue and white, surrounded by soft green leaves. The coordinating base features a lovely raised oval/leaf design.

This sweet little box would be perfect for holding rings, earrings or other tiny treasures and would make a beautiful addition to a vintage vanity, dresser, cottage-style display or collection of miniature porcelain.

The piece is unmarked, so the maker cannot be confirmed. Its styling is consistent with mid-century decorative porcelain trinket boxes, including many examples imported from Japan during the 1950s–1970s.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-related wear. There is wear/loss to the original gold detailing, along with some discoloration and wear around the unglazed areas. The inner rim of the base has roughness and small nicks/chips, as shown in the photographs. Minor manufacturing irregularities and surface wear may also be present.

The applied porcelain flowers remain especially pretty and display beautifully.
