Plumb Crazy Vintage

@plumbcrazyvintage

Plumb Crazy Vintage is run by me, Joan Plumb. I've always loved the thrill of the hunt — the estate sale early mornings, the tucked-away antique malls, the joy of spotting something special that deserves a second life. I collect vintage, antique, and delightfully unique pieces that have character and make me smile. Every piece in the shop is chosen by hand and ready for a new home. I pack with care and ship the first business day after purchase. Your purchase helps fund my local food bank.

Vtg Wooden Sewing Box Caddy - Dome Lid Brass Knobs Handle Spool Holder - 1940s

VINTAGE WOODEN SEWING BOX CADDY WITH HANDLE - Dome Top - Spool Holder Inside

Charming vintage wooden sewing box from my personal collection. Dark stained wood with curved top handle, double brass knob closure, and scalloped side panels. Features interior spool compartment - perfect for sewing notions, jewelry, trinkets, or desk storage.

This is a true vintage piece with wonderful patina. Solid wood construction, not reproduction.

MEASUREMENTS - Approximate from photos:

• Length: approx. 9.5" - 10" long

• Width / Depth: approx. 5.5" - 6" wide

• Height: approx. 6.5" - 7" to lid, approx. 8.5" - 9" to top of handle

Please see ruler photos for scale.

DETAILS:

• Material: Solid wood, stained dark walnut / espresso

• Closure: Double brass ball knobs on curved dome lid

• Interior: Open compartment with built-in wooden spool holder / trough on right side (1 vintage wooden spool included for display)

• Handle: Fixed arched handle with shaped side supports

• Feet: Small integral feet

CONDITION:

Vintage used condition. Shows age-appropriate wear - finish loss, scuffs, scratches, and light distressing to stain especially on top and handle (see all photos). Lid opens and closes well. Brass knobs are secure. No cracks or breaks to wood that I see. Inside is clean with some staining. Sold as-is vintage.

Great little sewing caddy, very decorative! Would also make a great farmhouse storage box, craft caddy, or gift.
