Vintage Brass Coal Scuttle / Coal Bucket - Made in England
Classic helmet-shaped brass coal scuttle bucket with tall arched swing handle and small side loop handle on the back seam. Stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the bottom.
Perfect for fireplace hearth decor, as a kindling bucket, log holder, umbrella stand, or as a large brass planter for ferns / houseplants.
Construction: Sheet brass with rolled top edge, footed base, soldered bottom seam, riveted handle mounts. Unpolished with natural vintage patina.
MEASUREMENTS (from photos):
• Height to rim: approx. 10-11" at back
• Height to top of swing handle: approx. 15 - 15.5"
• Top opening: approx. 12" long x 9-10" wide
• Base diameter: approx. 9"
CONDITION:
Good vintage used condition. Unpolished - shows natural tarnish, spotting, light scratches, and surface discoloration consistent with age and use as a coal bucket. Some dark soot inside, solder / lead marks around bottom where base is attached (as made), and a few light dents to brass as seen. Handle swings freely and is sturdy. No holes. See all photos.
