Classic 1930s Machine Age Trojan Horse Head Bookend - SINGLE.
Iconic stylized horse / chess knight design with arched neck, stepped fluted base with copper plating on mane and base, dark bronzed patina on body. This is the sought-after Dodge Trophy Inc. form that collectors call the Trojan Horse.
• Maker: Dodge Inc. / Dodge Trophy, Los Angeles - later also produced by Philadelphia Mfg Co. PMC as "Bronze Plated Horse Head Bookends c.1940"
• Date: c.1930-1940 Art Deco / Machine Age
• Material: Cast gray / pot metal, original bronze and copper plated finish
• Size: Approx 8" tall x 4" wide x 3.25" deep - standard size listed as 4" Wide x 3.25" Deep x 7" Tall each - yours measures just over 8" to top of mane with my ruler photo.
• Weight: Approx 2.5 lbs unpacked
• Details: Hollow inside as original, rough cast interior. No felt on bottom - shows age and some verdigris.
