Vintage studio pottery cat bowl - sweet folk art kitty dish with so much charm!
This is a heavy, hand-thrown stoneware bowl in speckled buff clay with glossy glaze inside and out.
Details:
• Outside: Hand painted cobalt blue and white checkerboard pattern with dark blue bands at rim and base
• Inside: Double blue ring border with a white cat sitting in the grass. Light blue sky, soft green hills, little turquoise grass marks. Such a happy face!
• Bottom: Unglazed stoneware showing the clay body, hand lettered "purr purr" in dark blue. Small initial signed near edge.
Perfect for dry food, water, or treats. Heavy weight keeps it from sliding or tipping - great for small cats, kittens, or even as a trinket dish on your dresser.
Identified as Debbie Dean folk art pottery - Debbie Dean is known for the blue checkerboard stoneware bowls with animal centers and the "purr purr" cat bowl is one of her classic designs.
