The Daher company, officially known as Designed Hardware, gained significant popularity during the mid-20th century for their brightly colored and intricately patterned decorative metalware. Operating primarily out of Long Island City, New York, with manufacturing facilities in England, they imported a wide array of lithographed metal trays, bowls, and canisters.
These pieces were heavily inspired by antique ceramics and traditional European folk art, making them highly fashionable accessories for domestic interiors of the era. The distinctive metallic sheens and embossed details were achieved through specialized offset lithography printing techniques on tinplate. Today, these vibrant mid-century housewares are collected for their nostalgic charm and durable craftsmanship.
