Colorful mid-century Japanese export pottery vase featuring a hand-painted deer/animal scene with stylized floral, fish, branch, and geometric motifs. The double-handled amphora form has a richly decorative majolica-style surface with raised/incised outlines and vibrant yellow, red, blue, green, and cream tones. Marked “Made in Japan” on the base. Approx. 11" tall. Shows vintage wear, paint loss, and a rim chip, but displays beautifully. It is a conversation piece for sure!
