This charming vintage firkin-style bucket was handcrafted by Basketville of Putney, Vermont, known for producing traditional New England woodenware. Measuring approximately 5½ inches tall to the top of the lid knob (excluding the swing handle), this petite bucket features warm stained wood staves bound with aged metal bands and a fitted wooden lid with turned knob. The bucket is beautifully decorated with a hand-painted folk-art landscape depicting a small cottage nestled among rolling hills beneath dramatic clouds, accented by floral motifs in shades of blue, white, and green. The bentwood swing handle adds both functionality and classic country charm. The naturally aged metal bands show a desirable patina that complements the rustic character of the piece. Whether displayed in a primitive, farmhouse, or country décor setting, this Basketville firkin makes a wonderful decorative accent and a lovely example of Vermont folk craftsmanship.
