Hi Everyone! I am from Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home.
Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) refers to a style of glassware produced in the United States from the mid-19th century until around 1910. This period saw a surge in glass manufacturing, with companies developing intricate molds to create decorative and affordable tableware and decorative items. EAPG is characterized by its pressed patterns, often featuring floral motifs, geometric designs, and figural elements, making it highly collectible. This particular cruet, likely from the United States Glass Company's "Mayflower" or "Duquesne" pattern, exemplifies the EAPG aesthetic. The vertical ribbing, raised oval motifs, and decorative base are common features of this era's pressed glass. Such cruets were functional items for serving oil, vinegar, or other condiments, but their decorative qualities also made them display pieces.
