Hi Everyone! I am Amy, one of the Moderators here at Secondhandsquad.net. Part of that role is to assist with any questions you may have, so fire away! I am from Columbus, Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home. While I love the reselling business, I find my joy in giving new life to old pieces and sharing that with others.
The Scio-Ohio Pottery Company made affordable ceramic tableware in Scio, Ohio, starting in the nineteen-thirties. They produced large quantities of inexpensive dinnerware for everyday home use, department stores, and promotional giveaways during the mid-twentieth century.
Families used these cheerful floral platters to serve holiday meals, Sunday dinners, and everyday family suppers across American dining rooms. As dining habits shifted toward casual casual dining and imported wares over the decades, these mid-century domestic dinnerware sets were gradually retired from active household service.
