Classic American restaurant ware by Shenango China, New Castle, PA. This is pattern AN-42, featuring a colorful chinoiserie floral design.
Details:
• Maker: Shenango China, New Castle, PA, U.S.A. - Anchor Hocking
• Backstamp: Shows the classic Shenango hooded monk logo, "Anchor Hocking" and "AN-42"
• Pattern: AN-42 - Central design of an orange flowering tree with large pink roses, yellow and blue blossoms. Rim has matching floral sprays and a geometric orange/brown lattice border with blue accents.
• Type: Bread & Butter Plate / Dessert Plate
• Size: 6 3/4 inches diameter
• Material: Vitrified China - this is heavy-duty restaurant ware made to last
• Age: Mid-20th century. Shenango was acquired by Anchor Hocking in 1979, so this backstamp dates it to 1979 or later. Shenango operated 1901-1991.
