Vintage Norleans Japan Cornucopia Vase - Blue & White with Gold Trim
Lovely 1950s-60s Japanese porcelain cornucopia / horn of plenty vase in a blue onion style floral. Features delicate blue flowers, scrolling vines, and dragonfly/butterfly motifs with hand-painted gold dot accents.
Beautiful details:
• Ruffled, flared rim with blue brush stroke and thick gold trim
• Curled horn body with embossed scroll on back
• Ornate footed base with three paw feet and blue & gold leaf decoration
• Gold highlights on base scroll and leaf
Marked with original gold foil sticker on side: NORLEANS JAPAN. Norleans was a US importer of fine Japanese porcelain in the 50s-70s.
Perfect for a small posy of violets, on a mantel, vanity, or as a shelf accent with your blue & white collection.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Some light wear / fading to the gold on the ruffled rim and at the very tip of the horns - typical for age and display - please see close-up photos. Some light dust in crevices. Sticker is worn at edge but intact. Displays beautifully.
Measurements:
Approx. 6.5" high. Top opening approx. 5.5" x 2.75" - ruffled. Base approx. 3.5" long.
