Vintage Handmade Wood Swivel Top Box - Artist Signed Robinson
Beautiful one-of-a-kind studio-made box with clever swivel lid that pivots on a solid wood peg dowel.
The box maker is hand signed on the bottom "Robinson" - see last photo.
Lid is decorated with Japanese chiyogami / washi paper collage under gloss:
• Yellow crescent moon and bold sunflower motif with gold leaf flecks
• Teal/blue/gold geometric kimono pattern
• High gloss decoupage finish
Construction: Solid light maple, natural interior, mitered corners. Lid rotates open on a single wood peg at one corner - no metal hinges. About 6.75" x 4.5" x 1.75" tall.
Condition: Good vintage handmade. Clean inside. A few tiny white spots on wood edge and light paper edge wear, as shown in close-ups. Swivel works perfectly.
