Vtg Brass CLOVELLY Horse Head Horseshoe Door Knocker English Souvenir 3.5"

Horseshoe - English Souvenir

Charming vintage solid brass door knocker from Clovelly, England. Features a detailed horse head (traditionally called the Clovelly Donkey) with bridle, set inside a lucky horseshoe. The horse head is hinged and knocks against the horseshoe backplate.

The front is marked CLOVELLY on the lower banner. This is a classic 1950s/60s souvenir piece from the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly in Devon, famous for its donkeys that pulled goods up the steep cobbled streets.

Perfect for equestrian decor, horse lovers, cottage door, barn, tack room, or bar.

CONDITION:

Good vintage condition with lovely aged patina. Unpolished, with darkening, spotting, and verdigris in crevices from age and use. No cracks or breaks. Please see all photos, they are part of the description. The back shows age and tarnish, maker's mark obscured by patina.

This would polish up bright gold if you prefer, or leave with its perfect vintage character.
