Vintage Mid-Century Modern Silver Plated Rim Glass Covered Candy Dish / Footed Compote with Lid
Gorgeous Hollywood Regency / Dorothy Thorpe style lidded candy dish — clear glass with brushed silver plating around the bottom pedestal and around the edge of the top.
• Design: Footed UFO / mushroom shape, domed lid with round ball finial. Clear glass bowl sits on flared silver-plate pedestal. Lid has wide silver band around rim.
• Measurements:
○ Diameter: ∼6 - 6.5"
○ Height with lid: ∼6.5" (ruler shows 6-7" in your photos)
○ Base height: ∼2.25" silver pedestal
• Material: Glass + silver plated metal (not sterling, silver plate)
• Era: 1960s-1970s Mid-Century Modern
Condition: Vintage used. Glass has no chips or cracks that I see — light surface scratches from age. Silver plating shows wear — light brush marks, small dark spots and tiny pits on the lid band as shown in your close-ups. Interior is clean. Beautiful display piece.
Perfect for: Candy, nuts, bath bombs, cotton balls, vanity storage — very popular as MCM decor.
