Sweet little Victorian miniature oval picture frame with original 1870s photograph still inside.
DETAILS:
• Frame: Oval brass, gold plated - marked on back with round embossed stamp "GOLD PLATED AND..." with fancy script initials and star - as shown in close-up
• Size: Approx 2" wide x 2.75" tall overall - photo area about 1.5" x 2" - see ruler photos - tiny desk / mantel size
• Stand: Original wire easel back - folds out to stand
• Photo: Original 1870s CDV / albumen portrait of balding gentleman with mustache and bow tie and vest - sepia toned, faded with age toning, light foxing, and two small reddish spots on lower right of image - as photographed
• Back also has hand scratched initials "B7 VH" - possibly old inventory
CONDITION:
Good antique condition. Brass has tarnish, wear to gold plating, and age patina. Glass has light surface dust. Photo is faded and toned as expected for 150-year-old image - please see all 6 photos close-up - they are part of description. No cracks to frame. Easel works.
