Hi Everyone! I am Amy, one of the Moderators here at Secondhandsquad.net. Part of that role is to assist with any questions you may have, so fire away! I am from Columbus, Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home. While I love the reselling business, I find my joy in giving new life to old pieces and sharing that with others.
Dalzell-Viking Glass Company was a prominent American glass manufacturer known for its pressed glass items, particularly in vibrant colors like pink and amber. The company operated in New Martinsville, West Virginia, and was formed in 1965 through the merger of the Dalzell and Viking Glass companies. They produced a wide range of decorative and functional glassware, often featuring intricate patterns that appealed to collectors. This particular pattern, often referred to as "Yesteryear" or hobstar and fan, is a classic example of American pressed glass design. Such sets were popular for serving beverages and were widely produced during the mid-20th century. The use of pink glass, often achieved through selenium, was a signature of many depression-era and mid-century American glass manufacturers, evoking a sense of nostalgia and charm.
