Vintage Chinese Rose Medallion Porcelain Trinket Box - 4" Square - Famille Rose Mandarin Scene
Lovely vintage Chinese Export porcelain covered box from my collection. Beautiful hand painted Chinoiserie decor perfect for your vanity or collector shelf.
Details:
• Size: 4" square x approx 2" tall with lid. Footed base.
• Material: Porcelain with raised enamel and gold gilt trim
• Style: Rose Medallion / Famille Rose / Canton - Mandarin court scene. Lid shows 5 figures in traditional robes in a courtyard palace scene in pink, blue and rust. Sides decorated with fruit, flowers, butterflies and foliage on gold ground.
• Mark: Underside of lid stamped in red - "CHINA... DECORATED IN MACAO FOR PATNI & CO." with import triangle mark and red square seal mark. See photo.
• Construction: Two piece - domed lift-off lid with flat footed bottom. White glazed interior.
Condition:
Good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs. Lovely bright colors. Light wear to the gold gilt on edges and rim from age and use, and some light darkening to the unglazed rim where lid sits - normal for these Macau boxes. Inside clean with a few tiny specks. A wonderful little piece for Rose Medallion, Famille Rose, or Asian export collectors. Great for rings, pills, or vanity treasures.
