Lovely pair of mid-century Blue Danube candlestick holders in the classic Blue Onion design.

This pattern is reminiscent of Blue Onion on white background, fine porcelain with cobalt blue floral and is known for scalloped edges, fine detailing, and deep cobalt blue designs. The line was launched in 1951 and discontinued in 2000 and brought to life in Japan starting in the 1950s, producing high quality porcelain for export.

These are the 2 Candle Stick Holders Tapers Rectangle mark Japan Vtg with Blue Onion pattern on rectangle shape, crafted from fine china with glossy finish, made in Japan using traditional blue and white pottery techniques.

Both feature the detailed onion, aster, and winding vine motif in rich blue on crisp white, with blue banding at collar and foot and gently flared ruffled tops to catch wax.

Condition: Good vintage estate condition. No cracks or crazing. Please note small flea bite chips on the very top rim of each holder, visible in photos 1 and 4, and light specks from manufacture and use. Insides show wax residue and light staining from use. Bottoms marked cleanly. Sold as found, as photographed.
