Hi Everyone! I am Amy, one of the Moderators here at Secondhandsquad.net. Part of that role is to assist with any questions you may have, so fire away! I am from Columbus, Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home. While I love the reselling business, I find my joy in giving new life to old pieces and sharing that with others.
Fenton Art Glass Company made decorative glassware in Williamstown, West Virginia, starting in the early twentieth century. They produced thousands of distinct tableware and gift items to satisfy a strong post-Second World War demand for decorative pastel and white glass. Workers pressed molten glass into intricately carved metal molds to create raised textures like the popular hobnail pattern.
Homemakers used these covered dishes on dining tables and sideboards to hold butter, candy, or small household items. They sat in living rooms and kitchens across North America during the middle decades of the twentieth century. Changing interior decoration tastes eventually slowed the production of such decorative glassware.
