This is a vintage brass chamberstick or taper candle holder featuring a saucer-shaped base and a leaf or petal-shaped drip pan just below the candle cup.
The exceptionally wide base was purposefully engineered to catch wax drips from a tall taper candle, while also adding stability to prevent it from tipping over.
