Vintage Italian Wine Bottle Pepper Grinder - Fazi-Battaglia Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi - Made in Italy

You are buying one vintage wooden pepper mill made to look exactly like a bottle of Italian Verdicchio wine.

This is the hard-to-find Fazi-Battaglia Titulus Verdicchio version from the 1960s-70s Italian souvenir / barware era - similar to the Olde Thompson Chateau Bordeaux and Ruffino Chianti bottle mills that are collectible now.

Details:

• Shape: Tall wine bottle with flared base - It measures about 15" tall

• Height: 14" tall from base to top of gold knob - see ruler photos for scale

• Construction: Two-piece wood - top twists off to reveal grinder mechanism, brass gold painted knob on top with slotted screw, metal grinder plate on bottom with cross-bar stamped MADE IN ITALY - It measures about 15" tall

• Finish: Hand-painted wood in olive green and dark wood brown with aged / crackled paint, gold bands at neck - original paper wine labels with grapevine graphics applied and varnished over

• Labels read: TITULUS VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI and NETTO LITRI 0.720 Gradi alc. 12

• Mark: Metal bottom plate stamped MADE IN ITALY and Fraber ITALY (partially worn), plus top screw

Condition: Good vintage. Used condition. Paint has wear, scuffs, chips, craquelure and surface scratching consistent with 50+ years of kitchen use - see close-ups of labels and paint texture. Top knob has brass wear. Grinder mechanism turns - I did not test with peppercorns but screw turns and bar spins. Sold as-is as collectible barware.
