Charming Vintage Folk Art Deer / Antelope from India - Wood & Iron Sculpture
So much personality in this one! This whimsical stylized deer was hand crafted in India and features a wonderful mix of materials - a solid carved wood body in a warm honey brown with wrought iron head, legs, tail, and those fantastic scrolled wire antlers that curl like ram's horns.
Mounted on its original rectangular wood base with burgundy felt bottom. Retains the original MADE IN INDIA paper label.
Perfect for your MCM shelf, mantel, cabin, or eclectic gallery wall. He looks great alone or paired with other tribal / African / Southwestern folk art animals.
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition. No cracks or breaks. Wood shows natural grain and light age-appropriate wear. Black painted iron has minor paint loss / light surface rust patina at welds and horn tips, as expected with age. Felt bottom shows some dust/fibers.
