Charming vintage Mexican folk art pottery hen-on-nest covered dish, handcrafted in warm terracotta clay and decorated by hand with bold cream slip designs. The sculptural hen forms the removable lid and rests in a coordinating round nest bowl accented with whimsical floral motifs.
Marked “Hecho en Mexico – Lead Free” on the underside. The handmade construction, earthy coloring and wonderfully primitive decoration give this piece loads of rustic Mexican folk-art character.
