Set of 4 Vintage Handcrafted Marquetry Wood Plaques - Castle River Woodwork - Victoria, B.C.

Beautiful vintage set of 4 round inlaid wood wall plaques, handcrafted by John Forish of Castle River Woodwork, Victoria, B.C., Canada. Each plaque uses the marquetry technique - different natural wood species and grains pieced together to create the image, no paint.

This is a complete 4-scene set with classic Pacific Northwest / Vancouver Island themes:

• 1 - Mountain Lake Scene: Evergreens, lake and mountains

• 2 - Orcas: Two orca whales breaching with mountains behind

• 3 - Hummingbird: Hummingbird feeding from a hibiscus flower

• 4 - Lighthouse: Coastal lighthouse on a rocky point with outbuildings

All 4 have a light maple outer frame, felt backing to protect walls, and a metal triangle hanger on the back - ready to hang for display. Perfect for cabin, beach house, lodge, or gallery wall.

Condition:

Good vintage pre-owned condition. Light surface wear consistent with age and display. The Orca plaque has a small edge chip / lift at the top rim (see close-up photo #5) - otherwise all inlays are intact and secure. Please see all photos for condition.

This is a hard-to-find set - usually found singly. Lovely collectible Canadiana / PNW folk art.
