I have been an avid thrifter and collector for decades. I can spend hours scouring flea markets, thrift shops, Goodwill and estate sales and do just that on most weekends. My home is an eclectic mix of my many finds and probably decorated with 80% previously loved furniture, art and decorations. MCM holds a special place in my heart - there's just something about the clean lines of the furniture and the whimsy of the decorative pieces that brings me so much happiness. This is my first foray into online selling, but I'm very excited to share the treasures I find and to be included in this community.
This charming vintage Japanese lusterware flower frog features a beautifully hand-painted bluebird perched atop a warm amber-gold iridescent ceramic base. This whimsical piece combines decorative charm with practical function, making it perfect for displaying fresh-cut flowers, wildflowers, or dried stems. The mark on bottom is worn but most likely says "Made in Japan". Measures 3" tall x 2" wide
The multiple flower openings allow for creative floral arranging, while the detailed bird with outstretched wings makes this a lovely display piece even when not in use. A wonderful addition to any collection of vintage Japanese ceramics, flower frogs, or bird figurines.
Condition: Good vintage condition with the vibrant luster finish still shining beautifully. There is a small chip on the end of the beak and the edge of limb where the bird is perched. No major cracks or repairs noted. Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
