Vintage Japanese Sosaku (creative) kokeshi doll, circa 1970s. Hand-turned and hand-painted wood with a sweet summer look.
She wears a wide-brimmed carved straw hat painted with a bright red bow on the back, and a bell-shaped dress in soft sunset orange with yellow polka dots. The front is decorated with two cheerful butterflies — one green and yellow, one red and yellow with white centers. She has a red V-neck collar with white dots, simple black dot eyes, and a tiny red smile.
This is the charming “little girl in a sun hat” style popular in the Showa era, perfect for kokeshi collectors, cottagecore shelves, or a cheerful desk buddy.
