Lovely vintage mid-century wall plate / decorative plaque from Western Germany. Features a highly embossed / raised relief scene of a traditional Black Forest Schwarzwald farmhouse with thatched roof, dirt lane, fences, trees and stream.
Beautiful hand-painted in glossy majolica glazes - soft blues, forest greens, browns and cream. Nice 3D effect that catches the light.

• Incised / impressed: 2557 with arrow mark
Dates this to the 1960s-1970s, before reunification.
