Vintage Ornate Brass Easel Plate Stand with Bird Crest - Twisted Rope Sides - Detailed
Lovely heavy vintage cast brass easel with a wonderful detailed design. Very ornate pierced and filigree work throughout.
Features twisted rope side rails, a fancy scrolled top crest with a pair of birds perched over a flower urn with scrolling foliage and flowers, and a pierced 3-lobe shelf with scrolled feet. Great display for a small plate, small framed art, tile, cookbook, or small picture frame. Nice weight, stands solid.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON CONDITION - PLEASE READ:
The back support bracket / kickstand leg is NOT ORIGINAL to the easel. It has been replaced with a handmade twisted copper wire stand. See close-ups photos 4 and 5. It is functional and holds the easel upright well, but it is not original brass and is not the original design. Priced accordingly.
Otherwise the brass easel itself is in good vintage condition. No breaks or cracks to the brass. Has natural patina, tarnish, and light surface wear consistent with age. Could be polished brighter if you like shiny brass, or left with the darker antique patina. See all photos - they are part of the description.
