A beautiful ornate silver-plated chafing dish with pierced gallery, sculptural legs, decorative handles and open-scroll finial.
All the part are still together: the silverplate stand, domed lid, removable clear glass casserole insert and small glass warming-candle cup underneath.
The silverplate was gently polished to bring back its shine while preserving some of the natural patina in the recessed areas. It shows normal vintage surface wear and some remaining tarnish, particularly inside the lid and around the detailed areas.
The approximately 2-quart glass casserole is marked OVEN PROOF / MICROWAVE SAFE / MADE IN USA / 448 and has wonderful sculpted handles. Approx. 12" across the handles, 9" diameter and 10.5" tall overall.
Such a lovely piece for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or simply display with a collection of vintage serveware.
