Charming vintage wicker duck basket – the perfect piece of 1970s folk-art whimsy for a kitchen counter, entry table, or shelf!
Details from your piece:
Hand-woven rattan/wicker body in two-tone brown with tight weave
Sculpted duck head and neck forming the front, with a carved wooden bill (see close-up)
Coiled wicker eye detail and sweet little looped tail at the back
Open oval bowl – great as a catchall, fruit bowl, egg basket, or plant holder (line with moss)
Condition: Very good vintage condition with that lovely aged patina. The weave is tight and sturdy, no major breaks. Light surface wear and a few small lifted ends at the tail loops (pictured – typical for these 50-year-old baskets). No odors, clean and ready to display.
