Homer Laughlin + Japan
Lovely vintage lot of 5 crescent-shaped bone dishes / side plates with gold trim and floral decals. All are approx. 6 1/2" long point to point.
THE BREAKDOWN:
1 - HOMER LAUGHLIN (Top in photo)
• Mark: HL monogram - Homer Laughlin - The Virginia / Rose pattern (pink morning glories)
• Age: 1940s
• Condition: AS-IS - DISPLAY ONLY - This one has heavy crazing and a tight hairline crack across the middle (see close-up photos 2 & 3). Gold rim worn in spots. No chips, but that crack is there. Great filler if you need the pattern, or use for craft / mosaic.
4 - MADE IN JAPAN (Bottom 4 in photo)
• Mark: JAPAN on back
• Each has a different bright floral bouquet with gold scalloped rim - pink roses, carnations, pansies
• Condition: 3 are in excellent perfect condition - no chips, cracks, or crazing, bright colors.
• 1 has a tiny flea bite / chip on the back rim - see last photo where it says JAPAN. I photographed it. Front still looks perfect.
All of these are true vintage porcelain bone dishes, not reproductions. The Japan ones are likely Chadwick or Lefton era.
Perfect for a cottagecore table, replacement dishes, trinket dishes, or jewelry dishes.
Condition Summary: 1 Homer Laughlin with crazing + hairline crack (as-is). 3 Japan in perfect mint condition. 1 Japan in excellent with tiny back rim chip.
