Hi Everyone! I am from Ohio and love thrifting and perusing our local antique stores! I enjoy pieces that remind me of my grandparents and love the hunt of finding unique treasures to bring into my home.
Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) refers to glassware produced in the United States from the mid-19th century until around 1910. This era saw the rise of automated glass pressing machines, allowing for intricate patterns to be mass-produced at affordable prices, making decorative glassware accessible to a wider audience. Many EAPG pieces featured elaborate floral motifs, geometric designs, and figural elements, often mimicking more expensive cut glass. This particular dish, with its floral and vine motif and scalloped edge, is characteristic of EAPG patterns popular in the late Victorian era. Such dishes were commonly used as relish dishes, butter pats, or small serving pieces. The clear glass allowed the intricate patterns to be the primary decorative focus, and these items remain popular with collectors for their historical significance and aesthetic appeal.
