I enjoy antiques and vintage items, knowing they have a history. I love decorating my own space with these items as well as passing them on to others who have the same passion in older items. Come browse my shop and enjoy!
This is an antique white porcelain decorative plate featuring a hand-painted white and orange daffodil (narcissus) motif with green foliage and a gold-trimmed rim.
The backstamp indicates that this plate was manufactured by Porzellanfabrik Tirschenreuth (P.T. Bavaria), a highly regarded German porcelain company founded in the town of Tirschenreuth, Bavaria.
The P.T. Crest containing the letters "P.T." beneath a crown surrounded by a laurel wreath was specifically used by the Tirschenreuth factory. This exact green backstamp design dates back to the late 1890s through the 1920s.
On the front of the plate, the piece is signed "René" near the upper-right foliage. During this era, talented porcelain painters frequently signed their best work, making signed floral cabinet plates more collectible.
