Charming lot of 3 vintage Swiss cowbells from Lucerne, Switzerland.
All are the classic brass souvenir bells with floral decoration:
Rounded bell with embroidered strap - gold with red bottom fade, decal bouquet with white edelweiss, blue gentian, yellow and red alpine flowers - original woven fabric strap with edelweiss and red/blue flowers embroidered - approx 2-3/4" tall
Rounded bell with hand painted florals - hand painted blue gentian, red cyclamen, white edelweiss with yellow center - metal loop handle - blue label on back: SCHMID-LINDER 6000 LUCERNE Switzerland - approx 2-1/2" tall
Square flat bell - hand painted same edelweiss / gentian bouquet, signed "Switzerland" on front in black - metal round handle - blue label on back: SCHMID-LINDER 6006 LUCERNE Switzerland - approx 2-1/2" tall x 2-1/4" wide
All have metal clappers inside and still ring - nice old patina, light wear, paint loss and speckling from age as shown in close-ups. The square bell has some paint chip on top edge, the middle has spotting to the gold ground - typical for 1960s-70s souvenir bells.
These are the small size everyone collects for farmhouse shelves, Christmas decor, or door hangers. Not the large pasture bells that go on real cows - these are tourist souvenir / goat bells.
