Apollo Studios Hollywood Regency ormolu vanity box and candy dish. Manufactured in New York during the early 20th century, this highly collectible piece features spectacular French Regency-style craftsmanship. The openwork filigree frame is adorned with draped floral garlands, ornate scroll handles, and sits gracefully on four decorative feet. It houses a thick, removable glowing amber glass liner with a gorgeous pressed starburst pattern on the bottom that beautifully catches and refracts the light through the open metalwork. The matching heavy lid is topped with a beautiful, sculptural finial knob. This authentic piece is clearly stamped on the interior metal rim with "APOLLO", the design model number "3429", and the production size code "6 ½", denoting its exact 6.5-inch diameter. It measures approximately 8.75 inches from handle to handle and stands roughly 4.5 inches tall to the top of the finial.
